Make A Bright Wish 2020 Additional Donation From BJFC And A Happy News

Hi Brights, BJFC Admin here,

Are you enjoying the hectic but satisfying Brights Life with hashtag trending and massive voting? It's great to see Bright-kun being appointed as a brand ambassador to represent so many businesses. As for the life outside of work, he mentioned that he is working on a thesis for his school which makes us hope that he is also having a busy but fulfilling time in Bangkok.

We would like to share a little bit more about the additional donation made by us, as a part of Make A Bright Wish 2020 by Bright Official Fanclub (@Allbrightvc, here after, BOF).

As we have informed to Japan Brights beforehand in the blogs at our online shop, we collected fund once, instead of twice to collect donation first and the rest of the cost, such as custom tax and shipping later, with an intention to send whatever the overage would be donated.

When we finally confirmed the additional donation amount, which was after all the domestic shipping of the giveaways were finished, we contacted BOF and she suggested that we make the donation directly with a recommendation of the below foundation as the receiver of the fund.

We did some research and this is what Wikipedia says:

"Ramathibodi Hospital (Thai: โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี) is a university hospital of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University.[1] and is a hospital capable of super tertiary care. It is a teaching hospital for all undergraduate students of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital."

Their website also says that "Ramathibodi Foundation functions as a centre for kind-hearted donors, allocating the donations in support of medical development to give patients an opportunity to access to medical treatments regardless of their social status."

There was an article in Bangkok Post where they interviewed a female director of the foundation, if you are interested to learn more.

In the News section of the foundation's website, you can find Bright-kun! This is when he made the donation to COVID-19 prevention efforts with BOF in January this year.

To donate to the foundation directly, we emailed them first. I am not fluent in Thai, so it was a relief to find out that I was able to communicate with them in English. By the way, the contact person at the foundation addressed me as "Khun" for the first time in my life and it made me want to learn Thai even more!

Ramathibodi Foundation has 7 projects you can donate as below:

  • Ramathibodi Scholarship Program

  • Charitable campaign to support the purchase of medical equipment for the Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute

  • Lending a helping hand to impoverished patients

  • Covid-19 Prevention and Assistance Project

  • Stem cell transplant project

  • Charitable campaign in support of basic CPR volunteer training

  • Community Hospital Project

Nam-san, the contact person at the foundation told me that Lending a helping hand to impoverished patients project is the principal project that the foundation needs help the most, so we divided the fund with the necessity in mind and very happy to report that we were able to give to all 7 of the project with the donation.

She also said that the foundation can issue the certificate both in Thai and In English. We asked the certificates to be made in Bright-kun's name and received the digital version by email and BOF helped us pick up the paper certificates from the foundation's office. BOF was also nice enough to communicate with the foundation directly to arrange the pick up. We are so happy to work with the official fanclub that is so helpful and supportive!

With the digital certificate on hand, we posted about the additional donation on April 20th to welcome Bright-kun back after the self-quarantine period.

And to our surprise, we received a reply back from him! The first one, since we launched!

Thank you so much for all the Brights in Japan who donated through us to Make A Bright Wish 2020. Your contribution and well-wishes have reached him. Congratulations!

We are also running an another Blood Drive for the month of May in Japan and with Brights International network FCs worldwide because there is a need. It feels strange since we thought we launched BJFC to support a Thai actor, but we are starting to act more like a charity organization somehow. However, we are keeping our motto this year, #WWBD (What Would Bright Do?) to work sincerely with anything while having fun to ultimately support Bright-kun.

Let's experience many more happy and great things in the future with Bright-kun together!

Have A Bright Day!
